Replacement of Sand Filters
This manufacturer's request was simple: "Due to significant leaks, replace the sand filters used to treat the factory's water intake."
Like others, our solution could have been very simple as well: a standard replacement of the housings, a change in the filter assemblies, and the automation of the various filtration and backwash sequences.
ALOES took a completely different approach, seeking to optimize filtration efficiency, reduce the amount of rinse water, and minimize both capital investment and space requirements by implementing a Automatic Cylindrical Screen Filtration Systemsystem.
After conducting a particle size analysis (92% of suspended solids between 10 and 20 µm) to determine the filter size and cut-off point, Aloès proposed setting up its pilot plant to validate the effectiveness of our proposal: flow rate, percentage of release, and water consumption.
Today, we are installing the solution selected by the site: it is 5 to 10 times less expensive than a standard replacement, offers optimized (10 µm) and scalable filtration, uses 5 times less water, is very easy to maintain, and takes up much less space.
Results: Cost savings, Efficiency, Reduced water consumption, Simplicity.
