Replacing Sodium Bromide: Chemicals or Materials?

This year, sodium bromide was reclassified as a CMR substance, prompting most manufacturers to seek alternatives to the affected products.

In this context, for TARs and supplemental treatments, Aloès has developed two alternative solutions over the past several years: 

• Chemical: The simple replacement of sodium bromide with ALOSPEC 05—whichrequires no investment—is a treatment that Aloès has been mastering for over 10 years.
• Equipment: The implementation of a treatment system combining UV and ozone, which reduces the use of chemical treatments and eliminates the risk of CMR substances.

So, is it a CHEMICAL or a MATERIAL?
